Lightbeam looks like it could be a useful add-on, but I'm not convinced it's not a data collection scheme. It has a long list of questions and answers about privacy and data collection - a lot of it's vague. For example: Question: How do we learn information about you? Answer: We collect it automatically through our products and services (e.g., when we check whether your version of Firefox is up to date). That's only part of the answer, but I use it as an example. I think it's just talking about collecting information about your FF version. But why so vague? How do they check exactly? Is it dependent on FF's auto update settings? Is it done when you update the add-on? It doesn't have an option to change update preferences, and it doesn't have any about:config entries at all that I could find. Bottom line, I don't really trust it.
I find their privacy policy pretty clear: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/lightbeam/privacy/ @allizomeniz , your quote is from Mozilla Privacy Policy, so if you don't trust that, maybe you should not use their browser either
