    hey wilders,

im just wondering, is it better/safer to install addons such as WOT and Ad block plus using the built in add ons in firefox, or going to wot's and adblock plus's official website?

Going direct to the vendor will sometimes give you the latest build / version. The FF site doesnt update to the newer versions immediately

I find it a little ironic that I've never "trusted" WOT.

Not saying you shouldn't use it, just a little off-topic aside here ;)

I like to right-click and save the add-on to my desktop, then install it myself. You can do that from the Mozilla site or at an author's site. Mozilla has https servers for their add-ons but usually the author sites don't, but either one should be okay. If you're really paranoid you can scan the file with your antivirus before installing it. An added benefit of this method is you can save the files and create your own add-on library for future use. :D
