I just updated to Firefox 4 on my oldest PC (Windows XP Pro). Firefox 4 seems to be working fine.

Question: What happened to the 'Check for Updates' option under the Menu Bar's "Help"?

    Thanks in Advance.

Fx4 is closing in on a 100 million downloads within a month of launch. Of course, that doesn't mean there are that many users ;)
I downloaded it but I'm using Aurora instead.

I've heavily customized the appearance of my browser and so am not in a position to comment on any visual changes.

Some folks feel Aurora is snappier but then again there are so many variables.

You can install Aurora and it will be separate from your Fx4 but will share the same profile. If you don't like it or find too many add-ons not working you can just uninstall, keeping your profile of course:
    https://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/channel/

One procedure for forcing add-on compatibility is this:

In a new tab, type "about:config" without quotes and hit enter.
Then rightclick a blank spot in the page -> New -> Boolean -> (write/paste) "extensions.checkCompatibility.5.0a" (without quotes) -> set to False -> restart Aurora -> done

I have no noticeable problems, but it's possible that forcing compatibility for some add-ons may have unwanted consequences :)

There is this topic which may lead to the information you want (http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=2174759). A new topic is made daily with the generic title "The Official Win32 yyyymmdd builds are not yet out".

There's a internal link to the Aurora changelog but figuring out things is a bit heavy for me.

    I just came across this:
    https://wiki.mozilla.org/Firefox/Aurora/2011-04-21

I'll post in the Aurora topic as well.

I'm trying to slowly switch over to Firefox 4 on Ubuntu. I'm so used to Chrome, and not having the window decoration that it gets on my nerves to have one again :ouch:

What decoration? Could you elaborate? There may be some tweak to get rid of it.

The window title, and minimize/maximize/close buttons are known as the window decoration. On top of that, I can't find a theme that works well since the window decoration is always solid white. Bah... I'm just picky :)

    You could look over here:
    http://userstyles.org/styles/33773/firefox-4-choose-your-color

There's are many "dark themes" on Mozilla's add-ons page that do style what you need (but I don't know anything about Fx on Ubuntu.)
