Firefox 26 Final just hit the freeware sites!

    So now they are removing the ability to pause and restart downloads? Hopefully I am misunderstanding because that makes absolutely no sense.

    I was confused by your mention of the API. That is good to know then.

    Old download infrastructure seems to be synchronous way which was the main reason for firefox ui hangs during start or end of the downloads. Especially when antivirus starts scanning the downloaded files.

    With the new Asynchronous Download API, the hangs are eliminated (or atleast as per them). In my 1 day of testing, i don't see a milli seconds of hang during the completion of downloads, which i am very happy about it.

    But Addons using old download libraries, will fail to work and hence all the frustration for the same among the users...
