Thanks-you for giving me that advice, but I don't see any post about NOD 32 Kernel Service, which I had problem with.

i guess there is no need for the advanced heuristic shell replacement since it is now included as an option in this new version right?

I would think it is no longer needed on this new version. :)

Still getting application errors on a fresh install of XP Pro SP2... iexplore, and trillian pro most recently.

Fileshack downloads, never worked in the betas either.

As I've said countless times... if I disable IMON or reinstall the previous version of NOD32, I encounter zero issues. No random application errors, wifi connection doesn't crap out and don't run into issues with downloads no initiating or stalling.

Only other security related apps I'm running are ZA Pro 4.5 and SpySweeper 3.0.

Marcos if that isn't a clear indication that there is still something up with IMON, I don't know what is. Been reporting these issues since 2.11b. I'd be more than happy to send you a snapshot of my system if that would help you get to the bottom of the problem.

At this point though, I can't recommend the current version of NOD32 to my clients based on the problems I've experienced and lack of resolution.

I said this because I was referring to the Beta and the problems people were having could be expected with a Beta. It has just now become a final release, and we will see how many of those problems continue over, I am not over confident that they have fixed many issues, in fact I think they have gone to final release to quickly, and with this I think they are about to feel a great deal of heat from their customers...

I know that the HTTP scanner is of significant importance, that as a anti-virus developer I too would be chomping at the bit to release it, however I would have preferred to err on the side of caution and take it a little slower, allowing more time to fix some of the persistent bugs...

    Cheers :D

Still can't download from this link. Again, fresh install of XP Pro SP2, uninstall NOD32 and download starts fine.

    http://download.ewido.net/ewido-setup.exe

Running SpySweeper 3.0, ZA Pro 4.5, that's it.

Other than disabling IMON, no one from Eset has ever attempted to delve into this issue in greater detail... no one wanted to snapshot of my system etc...

Sigh. Too bad. I'm been pushing to get our corp AV away from Trend Micro since it's let in quite a few viruses, and I was impressed w/ what I read about NOD32, but this doesn't sound like anything I want to continue to push to our IS&T dept ... or even use on my PC!

I've been seeing a few support issues w/ NOD32 (like a lot of people not getting responses or long lag times), and that's a problem as well.

    Works here :D Sorry ;)

The lack of open discussion here by Eset in regards to the problems found with the Beta, I have found very frustrating...

I'm sending you a PM, give me a sec...

    Cheers :D

Seriously though, I disable IMON or uninstall 2.12, everything works fine.

Reinstall 2.12, I get app errors, stalled downloads or downloads that don't initiate far enough so I get your typical windows save dialog. Security settings are at default. No app conflict that I'm aware of.

EDIT - So there might be a compatibility issue with ZAP. Disable IMON, downloads work fine. Disable ZA Pro downloads work fine. Happened with 4.5 and 5.1.

Pretty sad that I'm the one driving resolution for this issue instead of support, which last time I checked was included in the cost of the product.

  23. The version I downloaded Friday night has the base modules as:

    2.12.1

    Yours are 2.12.0

    Strange?

  24. A little off topic, but how's SP2 working for you. I know there are some "problems" with the AMD64 chipset and SP2...............have you had any "issues".
