Using Win XP Home SP2 and NOD32 2.7

After using Windows defrag, there were two files/folders that did not defrag. One is the Outlook Express folder containing email folders, but that's a question for another forum.

The other was the 1GB file, ESET\infected\2TXHS2DA.NQF.
    1. Is this because NOD32 is running in the background?
    2. Should I be defragging in Safe Mode?
    3. Perhaps the real question is should I be using a third-party defrag utility?

    Thanks
    EdP

Your 1st option sounds about right to me.

When you defrag you really shouldn't have any programs running, even the screensaver will 'truncate' your work

That's odd. Could you send the file ESET\infected\2TXHS2DA.NQI to support[at]eset.com along with this thread's url?

    DONE.

Marcos - what is it that seems odd to you?

    Thanks,

Most likely the fact that it is a 1GB file. That would be hard to send though.

    flyrfan ...

The requested NQI file is only 1KB; it's the NQF file that's 1GB
