    Hello BrownGhost,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.

Yes, it can be done. To accomplish your goal you can crate a special batch file containing the script which changes the backup file name in accordance with the current date and then set this batch file as a "post" command in the Backup Archive Creation Options. Please read section 4.3.3 of Acronis True Image 9.0 User's Guide for more details.

    Thank you.

im using version 8. and i dont know how to make barch files.
why dont you have a simpel Myfile<Date>.tib funktion.
in thet way all users can use it, and dont have to be a programmer to figure it out.

most other programs have features like this.
right now my backop is worthless, as it just overwrites the one it made some days ago. thats not cool :(

    i need a solution..

If you need a different name, create a different task. For example, you can have 7 tasks that create files named Mon, Tue, Wed etc. If you want to know the date created, look at the create date.

but then after 7 days what theno_O

the whole reason for Scheduled Tasks, is thet thy run them self for ever..
and thats not posibel unless i set a tast for EACH day, the rest of the servers life, to create a new backop, and not deltet og overwrite the old one.

    thats just so so lame..

Listen, that was just an example. I can’t guess what your backup needs are and you didn’t detail them. You could also add a task to run on the 1st of each month; and one on the 15th; and whatever you want.
You have to define your needs and put a little thought into it – that’s all.
By the way, in my “every day” example (NOT solution), the images will be overwritten the next time around, so they will run forever.

Maybe someone else can add something, but when I hear people talking about keeping backups for “all eternity”, my eyes just roll back in my head.
Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.
