Could anybody suggest any software which can convert odt files into doc and docx files please.Reason being i have created my CV but currently linux mint will not allow me to upload odt files to potential employers.

I assume you're using LibreOffice - just save your CV in .doc format. You can choose File Type when saving your document. If you have already saved in .odt format then open your document and do a Save As and choose .doc File Type.
