I recently came across Interclue, http://interclue.com a "link preview" add-on for FF. Among many other features, when you hover your cursor over a link, Interclue displays an icon and will open a small preview of the page, if you want. I've found it makes surfing much more efficient and faster because so much less of the page is being downloaded.

Would be interested to know whether this preview process might offer any protection against driveby malware -- am I correct that it prevents scripts from being triggered?

    Any other experiences?
