With the launch of the 5.0 products, Zone Labs has been working very hard to handle various issues. We'd like to make it very clear that we have heard our users' feedback, and we take all of the reports very seriously. One overall issue that users have expressed is that they'd like to see more frequent official acknowledgements or statements about issues. We've just updated our web site to do just this: the official product FAQs now contain information about the most recently reported issues regarding our 5.0 products. You can find these FAQs in the Support section of our web site. There is also a link to these FAQs at the top of every page in the Zone Labs User Forum.

Again, we appreciate the issues that users have reported in the online communities. We're sorry we can't make a statement about every one, and that the timeliness of some of our responses is not as quick as we would like. We hope this change to our site is a good step in that direction.

As always, we ask that you report any serious issues with your 5.0 products to our Support organization at

    http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/support/form.jsp

Reporting bugs directly to our Support personnel help us improve our products.

Does this mean the discussions about issues are all to be done overthere?
That it doesn't detect antivirus other then NAV and MF, visualzone not working properly together anymore, programs freeze and threads of closed browsers / programs are not released soon enough hence stuttering and stumbling frozen system, maybe it's caused by leaking or buffer overflows, don't know exactly, all that to be discussed overthere?
Normally i'm really very patient, but if i have to close each five minutes the one program to be able to use the other or to even browse from the one page to the other, then i'm really getting at least nervous.
Not sure if the memory load is even more heavy then in the 4.5 versions? (did not check that out yet)
Having to close programs which worked before normal and fine and now clogging up and i have to close for instance even Port Explorer so it can release threads and help in freeing space, while one of the strong parts in Port Explorer is it's cleaning exactly in that area, so poor people who do without it! they must be in even worse conditions!
Normally you hardly hear me, i just wait patiently as many people will have been in the betatesting and are more specialist in testing this kind of software; i didn't read too many complainsts so i thought to take the risk...... now discovering all this myself and now seeing other people's serious complaints in the same areas, unfortunately it is not only me.
I'm willing to wait for Zonelabs to respond on the users complaints, if it takes too long i must decide to go back.

Oh and after installing it told me it could not start the program as it could not find a file SSLEAY32.DLL which is no original windows file and if it ever was there, it should not have been disappeared with the uninstall and if it was new it should have come with the new version; fortunately i found a version of that in another program on my system which i copied there.

I must admit other user's comments at each update or big release there are people into trouble and there are issues. About each version i had to re-install verious times because of files issues, it seems each version is heavier in resources which is getting problematic for users on older systems, and maybe there could be looked in a future version to handle things different to it is not so resources consuming all the time, would be a real nice study!
People turn away because of the trouble and the resources issue, while the ZAPro itself is not that bad in doing what is was originally made for: keeping portscanners and illigal connections out and programs with no allowance for outside connections in.
Just waiting more or less patiently for ZoneLab's answers on these issues.
I've no time to jump into those forums there, as we're more then occupied to help users in the forum overhere with other things what we are here for, so i just wait for the good news.

BTW: don't take it personal Marti, i know you guys work very serious on it.

The first link Marti posted was not to a forum but to a form to report problems directly to ZoneLabs. Much discussion regarding problems with version 5 is taking place in various forums. But to ensure that ZoneLabs is familiar with all the issues and the particulars, users should actually report them directly to ZoneLabs.

Marti's first link redirected me to this page and a form for reporting issues to ZL:
    http://www4.zonelabs.com/cgi-bin/servlet/support/support_req_fp.pl

The second link Marti posted was to ZL's amended FAQ regarding some of the version 5 issues that have been reported to them.
