    onlinesecurity --> safeonline!!!

    I often have to copy something from the web-browser to my mail client or my SQL editor. Of cause in most cases I have some https page open blocking the c&p procedure. As workaround I found out that pasting the text into a text file w/ notepad open works.

    Would it be possible to allow c&p if a user defined target is selected? In this case my mailclient postbox or my sql editor dbvis? If you like we can play some press the right button game to block malware from misusing this feature:

    press the button with 1 + 3

    confirm copy with the button with the result numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

    Hello,
    Thank you for the suggestion :) We are indeed planning on making a message show to the user when clipboard contents are being protected, but in the meantime, if you send a scan log by clicking Tools - Save Scan Results to report@prevxresearch.com we will be able to whitelist your applications to allow them to access your clipboard without a problem.

    Thanks again!

    Personally, I find it interferes with my productivity to not be able to copy and paste across my applications (without explicitly whitelisting them). If I have an https site open in a browser window somewhere, even if it's minimized, it keeps me from doing my work. It isn't practical to always be turning the security on and off. And since clipboard protection is at one of the lowest levels, I'd have to crank everything down to the lowest level to avoid this issue.

    Can you do as PrevxHelp asked Tolomir to do by sending a scan log to the address provided and they should be able to fix it at there end!

    Thanks,

    TH

    I don't want to continually send scan logs to get yet another app whitelisted -- this isn't a real solution. It just isn't worth the trouble -- I'd rather just turn off safeonline or crank down the security to Low once and for all.

    For banking I'll just use a different browser to protect banking sessions from ordinary websites. Unfortunately this isn't practical for every credit card transaction nor for redirection to PayPal from a shopping site when making a purchase.

    Whitelisting the scan log is the most reliable way to ensure clipboard data safety. When we add a file to the whitelist, we will usually allow future versions of the file as well, so we still strongly recommend that you send the scan log to allow us to correct your installation as best as possible :)
