    What sort of system are you trying to backup? (Notebook, desktop, brand) What type/brand of hard disk controller? (SATA, Raid, etc. chip maker) Do you have GoBack or a similar product installed?

    Are you using the latest build of TI 9.0, build 3677, and did you create a new Recovery CD with that build?

    With some more background, there's a greater chance we can help.

    Hello John-I have a question pertaining to whether a bootable cd is required when I have the boxed product?I am running TI 9.0.3677. I have a Dell desktop running XP Home. IO am asking this question because I understand that each new version of TI requires a new bootable cd and I am wondering if the boxed product is impacted in the same way? Thanks.

    Hello jrgoins,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

    First of all, please try re-creating Bootable Rescue CD and see the result.

    If that does not help then please do, as jmk94903 has suggested, and make sure that you use the latest build (3677) of Acronis True Image 9.0 Home which is available for downloading in the Product Updates section of your account at Acronis web site.

    You can find the full version name and build number by going to Help -> About... menu in the main program window.

    To get access to updates you should create an account then log in and use your serial number to register the software.

    Please uninstall any previously installed build by following Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs -> Acronis True Image, prior to installing build 3677.

    Please create new Bootable Rescue CD after installing the update, boot your computer from this CD and see if the problem still persists.

    If the problem still persists with Bootable Rescue CD created using the latest build (3677) of Acronis True Image 9.0 Home and the boot process reaches the section screen advising you to select either 'Full', 'Safe' or 'Boot into Windows option' then please try booting with "acpi=off noapic" parameter as it is described in Acronis Help Post.

    If booting with "acpi=off noapic" parameter does not help then please do the following:

    - Boot the computer from Bootable Rescue CD created using the latest build (3677) of Acronis True Image 9.0 Home once more and press 'F11' key when the selection screen advising you to choose either 'Full', 'Safe' or 'Boot into Windows' option appears;

    - After you get the 'Linux Kernel Settings' prompt, please remove the 'quiet' word, click on the OK button and choose the 'Full' option;

    - As the startup messages stop scrolling please write down the last few lines of the output, or use a digital camera to make a shots of the output screens.

    If the boot process does not reach the selection screen mentioned above then please use a digital camera to make a shot of the error message that you receive or provide the exact text of this error message. Please also let us know when you receive this error message exactly.

    Then please submit a request for technical support. Provide the files and information collected in your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

    Thank you.

    Hello wardell1,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

    Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.

    Yes, the boxed version is "impacted" absolutely in the same way. Actually, there is no difference between the boxed and downloadable versions at all. Independently of which version you have purchased you can go to Acronis web site, create an account then log in and use your serial number to register the software. After registering the software you will always be able to download the latest build of the corresponding Acronis product from the Product Updates section of your account. It is recommended that you re-create Bootable Rescue CD after installing the update as each new build provides better hardware support and usually has some minor problems fixed.

    You can find more information on how to use Acronis True Image 9.0 Home in the respective User's Guide.

    You may also find Acronis True Image 9.0 Home FAQ page helpful.

    If you have any further questions concerning Acronis software, please feel free to submit a request for technical support or post any of them on this forum. We will certainly try to help you in resolving any issues.

    Thank you.

    Hello Alexey-I didn't have a fatal error while attempting to boot from a bootable cd. I am only interested in the need to produce a new bootable cd for each program release in this particular thread.
    However, I opened a new thread pertaining to attempting to produce a new bootable cd and the program staying in the processing mode and not building the cd. I was using TI 9.0.3677. I removed and re-installed 3677. I have not checked it yet.
