I've been using Vista's parental control and Seven's Family filter, BOTH adding HUGE delays when browsing on my children computers.
I believe this is due page content being analyzed from MS servers before redirecting the content to the filtered computer.

Is there any faster/fastest Internet parental control filter than Microsoft's?

If I could be allowed a small joke, the fastest parental control is Dickens' book on discipline, chapter 4, the use of backhand and 2" cane for proper upbringing of offspring, 1873-1874. Still valid today.

    Code:
In "David Copperfield", Charles Dickens reveals that discipline is like a weapon:
those who misuse it are cruel, unjust, and a danger to everyone around them,
while those who fail to use it at all endanger themselves and lower their defenses.
Only those who use discipline properly can mature and live contentedly in this world.
Extremists of any kind are unsuccessful, and never achieve fulfillment.
As David embarks on his quest to maturity, he sees many different types of people,
and learns through his experiences that balance is a necessary prerequisite for success.

We're talking about 10yrs children; how do you cope "proper balance" with a potential offensive porn image popping out from a Google search?

If I may continue the joke; As kids black and blue can testify. Maybe when they grow up they can repay the kindness
