We have this on a pc at home. I downloaded a removal tool, which turned out to be Spyware Doctor. It says it clashes with ESS, and that we have to remove ESS in order to install spyware Doc.... which sounds a bit dodgy to me.

Anyway, can anyone recommend a removal tool that won't clash with ESS?
    Thanks

Hello and welcome to Wilders "Madonna ;)".

Try Malwarebytes, it will install without issues.
Usually a quick scan is all that's needed.

Please post back after you have scanned and tell us how it goes.

Scan/Clean with the following in Safe Mode:

    1. SuperAntiSpyware Portable
    2. Dr.Web Cureit

If the above scans do not get rid of your problem, boot and do a scan with the AVIRA Rescue System CD.

thanks for your replies.... so far i have tried malwarebytes anti-malware, and superantiwpyware portable. I'm still getting the same prob. However, i've just re-read your posts, and realised i din't do it in safe mode. Would this make a difference?

It is always best to perform Anti-Malware scan(s) in Safe Mode.

Incase you're not familiar with safe-mode, you could try Dr.Web Cureit before in normal mode.

If it doesn't work out in normal mode, run both scanners in safe-mode.
