I searched and saw those old posts using V3 that didn't seem to make sense to uninstall the program and delete some leftover files, then reinstall. I never had ESET in the system before and don't run a firewall.

Is there a better/newer fix for this using V4?

    Hello,

Did the error message mention "rules" or just "firewall"? If the word rules was in it, something in use by the OS might be conflicting with one of the default rules the firewall uses.

If that was the case try going into the Advanced setup tree and navigate to the to the"Zone and rule setup" window. In here try disabling one rule at a time and reboot after each one.

    Hope it helps.

    BFG

I'd suggest sending a log from LoadOrder to support[at]eset.com and the error message in the subject. Also enclose a link to this thread and a log from SysInspector, if possible.
