    If the second drive boots then you were in mirroring mode of RAID (RAID 1), so it should be fine. The data should restore there nicely.

    It's certainly a good thing to try.

    Please note that using file based backup you will be able to successfully restore only data. If you restore applications they might not work properly. Please take a look at this previous thread. It should answer your question.
