When doing a full backup of HHd # 1 I get an error "Failed to read sector241, 245,535 of HHD #1. Repeated retries result in the same error. I click on IGNORE and the backup completes satisfactorily.

    Question is what is happening?
    Are my backups OK?
Am I missing data on my backups?
    Can I restore an image?
If these are bad sectors can they be blocked out?

Since last post I did the following. Defrag C: drive. It was heavily fragged.
I then did a an "Error Check" on the disk and then a disk cleanup
I then ran the backup again. same error, it failed to read 4 sectors. How can I isolate these sectors?

I did a CjhkDsk /r and that did it. A backup run after the Chkdsk did not have any sector errors.
    Thanks guys,

How many bad sectors were found?

I ask because TI will sometimes report this error when nothing is wrong. In this case, it seems that there were actual bad sectors.

I'd check the drive fairly frequently and see if more bad sectors show up. If they do, consider replacing the drive.

I had the same problem with intermittent sector read errors. It got by some if I selected retry, but some would not clear with retry. I ran chkdsk /r. At first it corrected some "Cluster Errors". The backup worked twice after that. Then the read errors came back. Three out of four backups had sector read errors, but the Validation always worked. I replaced the PC HD with another one of the same size, and restored one of the backups I made that did not indicate a read sector error. Since then, I have made two more full backups without errors. Hopefully, the new HD fixed the problem. The sector errors were always in the same general sector number area, leading me to believe there may have been some damage on the original HD.
