    Hi Jeff,
It does seem to be slow on the update. I suspect you are aware of the site that gives the latest definition update info.

then I am up to date. A very light suite that works very silently. Time will tell. Thanks Jerry.

    Hi Jeff,
You are very welcome. Except for the slow start I found it an excellent install and forget application, and it did not cause problems such as I have experienced with some others.

It does not update sometimes on week-ends, but will if there is an outbreak or need as they see it. The update is also slow compared to the speed some others update. I don't know if it is the size of the update or not.

Let us know how you like it when you have a chance to evaluate it. If you don't like it, I know where you can get another AV suite.:D

    Best,
    Jerry

well after installing KIS 7 yesterday and 2 hours of constant pop-ups, it had to go. I like F Secure and Eset. I just bought a new desktop due to my addiction of adding and deleting apps, no one to blame but me, and I am being very careful this time. I have F Secure, Eset and F-Prot as my final choices.

Sounds like a good plan. I changed the firewall settings on KIS to "Training" and also had so many pop-ups that I went back to the low setting. Maybe I'll try that mode again, but I hate the constant pop ups while it is learning. The FS firewall learned faster it seemed, as did LnS and Kerio 2.1.5.

When I trialled F-Prot, and NOD I experienced no issues. They ran well, but I still prefer FSIS. I liked NOD so well I almost did not trial anything else.

    Best,
    Jerry

    Hi Jeff,
f-secure never seems to update at weekends.
    some conponants they hardlyever update.
but if you dont mind the slow startup then by all means use f-secure.
ps it would be a bad move by f-secure to ditch the kaspersky engine.
