Two weeks ago I noted that F-prot is issuing new signatures MUCH more frequently nowadays.

They used to issue them ~weekly. For over ~1 month now, they have been updating 3-4-5 times weekly, plus they recently issued an updated version.

    Has a sleeping giant awakened?

They've never felt asleep. F-Prot Antivirus is top-notch protection with one of the best heuristic engine (neural network technology ).

It does missing some "Marketing" features such as incoming or outcoming email scan. Can you do without this? Absolutely...

F-Prot will protect you just fine....

I never heard of F-Prot for Windows before BlackCat posted about it.
I only knew of F-Prot for DOS.

It looks interesting as a second scanner.
    F-Prot does scan reasonably fast!
The scan reports are easy to access also.

There is some type of competieve "deal" for current RAV customers mentioned at F-Prot's website also.

F-Prot is the lowest in resources I seen and tried, next comes AVG or AVG Pro. The reason I don't like F-Prot because it doesnt have a few features other low resources a/v have, for exmaple email scanner. I'm not sure if Zone Alarm Pro will handle my email attachments but I never failed with AVG Pro.

Funny, you don't read much about F-Prot, but the folks who work on puters day to day seem to rely on it. Aside from fast scan speed. I love the real time scanner. It is so unobrusive you forget its there until it catches something. It's great.
