All the elements of a seemingly-good "computer security" scenario gone wild - or is it?

Complete with "IP Hijacking", "fake caller ID" and "gag orders"

    For your inspection:

You didn't really think that they wouldn't mis-use all that power, now did you?

Keep those computers locked up tight, people.

And pray that you don't fall prey to anyone with the minimal skills necessary to pull off such a stunt - with YOU as the fall guy. Pete

It is quite frightening, particularly considering that they've arrested a teenager, who should be treated cautiously on account of his age. He could very well have done what he is accused for (bomb threats, a hoax?), but it doesn't explain why use the anti terrorist protocol (I'm not condoning it at all) once it was clear that the environment was a very harmless one.

Out of curiosity, how would you lock up your computer against something like that?

Is it time yet to dig up my stash of weapons? Are we at civil war II yet?
