I want an external HD for storage and back up. Looking at Tiger Direct there is an Iomega 34836 1 TB drive for $79.99 that has top notch reviews by those who have bought it.

I would appreciate any comments as to brands and other as you desire. I know essentially nothing about them. Thanks.

    Regards,
    Jerry

If you like the sound of the Iomega drive then go for it. I have not used one but have been quite happy with the Western Digital drives I have had over the years. I also have 2 Seagate drives that have been problem free.

I sorta settled on the the Iomega or Fantom GF1000EUC based on user reviews. They were rated the best of the brands I noticed. I do have a small WD external drive that has been fine, and except for the user reviews WD would be my choice.

    Thanks for the input.

    Regards,
    Jerry
