.EXE icon-.exe files without icons

    I don't know why all the new exe files comes out without icon'application - but with the dos'icon.:eek:

    The old executables comes out with the correct icon. But if I do a copy, this appear with dos'icon!

    Some idea to figure out this? Isn't malware.

    Something related to the icon cache? Some MS updates use the DOS/COM icon, though.

    Increase icon cache size with instructions at the top of the page.
    Kelly's tips and fixes

    You can refresh the icon cache by deleting the IconCache.db file from your profile directory (usually /Documents and Settings/Username/Local Settings/Application Data). It will be automatically recreated upon reboot.

    You can also refresh the icon cache by changing the icon size by 1 or use TweakUI.

    @ Franklin, I deleted the similar file (I'm using win 2000) "ShellIconCache" and it figure out the annoyance.

    Yep, this is always related to the icon cache :)
