    Sadly inevitable, and precisely why the secret programs like those the NSA have conducted in the name of anti-terrorism actually result in the "mundane" destruction of the Rule of Law. It's all about short-term benefit, at the expense of long term cost.

    There's a "parallel construction" in a Code of Conduct the UK Home Office has put out for consultation, in that they want to use GCHQ intercepts in evidence in court. I think this is unsafe and a really bad idea, although it superficially catches Bad Guys.

    Ah, so it really is all about the War on Drugs. That explains an awful lot doesn't it? Especially seeing as the War on Drugs is basically a sham for perpetuating various types of race/class oppression. Yay status quo.
