    I am curious if anyone is utilizing this feature "Excluded Files" to Clean while Updating/Coping a snapshot?

    FD-ISR's default Files exclusion is *.tmp .
    But others and not recommended by me - include:

    *.temp; *.gid; *.chk; *.~*;*.old; *.fts; *.ftg; *.$$$; *.---; ~*.*; *.??$; *.___; *._mp; *.dmp; *.prv; CHKLIST.MS; *.$db; *.??~; *.db$; chklist.*; mscreate.dir;*.wbk; *log.txt; *.err; *.log; *.sik; *.bak; *.ilk; *.aps; *.ncb; *.pch; *.?$?; *.?~?; *.^; *._dd; *._detmp; 0*.nch; *.*_previous; *_previous;

    The above list is offered by jv16 Power Tools as aggressive.

    What file exclusions do you include while Updating/Copying a Snapshot if any?

    thanks

    just the FDISR defaults, but I let CCleaner deal with some of the others first.

    Thanks Pete,

    Just curious, mind you, but do you trust CC more than FD-ISR's ability to take care of such mundane tasks?

    Well, they do it in two different ways. CC removes files that are already on your primary snapshot. FD just doesn't copy those files onto another snapshot or archive but they remain on the primary.

    I agree with Acadia. Apples to oranges comparison. I like a clean mean system before I update my archives.

    Ya, key point there.

    I do a system 'clean' , and there are many great tools for that, prior to Snapshot updates.

    Be a little careful with 'aggressive' cleaners as has been discussed before.
    That said; JV16 is some of the best software available.
    CC seems to be fine for me.

    LOL, if you forget to tidy up just prior to snapshot updates, go back and redo: no harm done :D

    FDISR: still rocking the house.
