    Hi,

is there any way to exclude pagefile.sys & hiberfil.sys when creating partition image?
These are each x 2GB on my system and make images bigger.

    thanks

No data in either of those files is included in a TI image.
The space is earmarked so that it is ready to be used should a restore be done.

If you have a second drive in your computer you could move both those files there. Even the place holders would not then be included.

    Hello peter_nn,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

We are sorry for the delayed response.

Xpilot is almost right, the pagefile.sys and hiberfil.sys files are not included into the image archive. Acronis True Image does not back up swap file information (pagefile.sys) and hiberfil.sys when creating an image of the disk/partition. This reduces image size and speeds up image creation and restoration. However, the image archive contains a few bytes of "placeholder" information that's used to recreate a hiberfil.sys when exploring or restoring an image. You could also take a look at this previous thread to find more information.

    Thank you.
