ewido.exe starts, but program isn't seen

I downloaded the free version last night on a friend's computer. The scan found thousands of trojans on the machine. When I tried to quarantine those files, it acted like it was freezing up.

After I let it sit there for half an hour, I went to bed. When I awoke this morning, the whole computer was sitting at a blank screen. I restarted the computer and then the program won't even open.

Guard.exe & ewido.exe are running, but the program isn't showing up on the screen. I manually looked through the C: and see that the Trojans are all still there.

Anyone have any ideas what's going on? I uninstalled & reinstalled the program with the same results.

 

Hmm, could you please have a look at the quarantine directory of ewido? How much files are in there? If there are many, does ewido start when you rename this folder to something else?
