    So, is this the moon lighting job for the Chinese 50-cent/five-mao party members or has it changed into their current daily job?
    Those guys 'n gals have been active for years and years. link link.
    I guess it's a logical step from supporting Communist party speeches and guidelines, towards promoting/bashing commercial based stuff given the direction of current day China politics.

    This is absolutely no different than what has gone on for years elsewhere in the world. The U.S, the U.K, all of these connected countries engage in this practice. Shady, you bet, "insidious", not likely. Caveat Emptor and all that. How come all this stuff only gets attention when the Chinese do it?
