I ran Ethereal and first was amazed that i can see my POP3 email and passwords in plain text. Is there a way to send email so that this does not happen. I use Outlook ( no exchange server) I think i saw something about encryption. Would the recipients have to use encryption also ?

now the question, i saw these discovery packets from the router , what do you think about it ?

This can be accomplished provided your ISP supports SSL or STARTTLS encryption. Once you determine that from your ISP....you should then be able to adjust your Outlook POP3 settings in regards to which port to use and selection to make. The "recipients" do not have a dog in the hunt as far as sending goes....only between you and your POP3 server.
