If 551 is ok should I still upgrade to 563?

Yes I can, it asks if you want to change the settings at install.

Eset is sure trying hard to control negative fall-out from this mess but 3 19MB downloads in 1 week to fix a small % of the bugs in a program that never should have been released for sale is "Not so nice one Eset."

I'm not registered user so far because I got the probs with the webimages. Where can I get the new version as a non-registered user? If I download the trial I get the old 551..

Your opinion. For me, other than the web images problem, I've not had any problems whatsoever with ESS. So, for me, it's "nice one Eset". And at least they're working hard at fixing the bugs. Granted, I have sympathy for those who are experiencing problems but at least they're working hard to sort them out.

the issue I'd like fixed is the slow boot up, splash screen still sticks for a minute than after it clears 3 minutes to get to my programs, I do run vista btw...

That opinion worried me - if there were serious problems the forum would be as busy as Zone Alarms!!!!

Other than a hickup with the un/pwd ESS has been a dream to use, light on memory and CPU usage, updates in a blink and does a scan in half the time of my previous AVS.

Perhaps if they don't like ESS they should go elsewhere, perhaps get a product from one of the other AVS vendors!

IN which case you can download it, just go here http://www.eset.com/download/registered_software.php
ESET will recognise your user name and password and within a few minutes you'll be up to date - please note if you have altered your settings you can keep your settings by leaving the tick in the tick box, also you may need to update your virus signature.

I got trial version through UK site . They sent me an email with user name and password and link to download site. Had to use the user/password given to download and then enter into ESS when installing.
I had the same problem as you when going to US site. The software their email linked me had the embedded user name and password you have
Try the UK site request for trial

Look at the orginal email they sent you - the password is under the user name.
