ESS 4.2.40.0 Using Too Much Memory!!!

    Constantly drains around 50k memory, CPU usage is fine though it sometimes spikes.

    Solution?

    EDIT: Using Vista SP2, Superfetch is disabled, took this screenie after letting lag settle for 5-10 minutes after reboot, disabled everything available (real-time file, web, email, firewall, etc.) yet problem still persists.

    I don't see any excessive memory use in your screenshot. You should take into account that only the engine with signatures itself is almost 27 MB in size.

    The memory usage looks perfectly fine. And while in the tweaking department, disabling the superfetch thing is a pretty broken "tweak" as well.

    OK well, it used to use around 10-20k memory, not 50k. Is a 30k increase something that should worry me, since I'm on a laptop? Will I see any CPU/comp heating?

    Also, I don't see how disabling Superfetch is a broken tweak, as I only have 1 GB of ram.
