I bought a friend of mine a subscription to Eset Nod32. A couple of days ago he ran a scan and these two items popped up. They had never popped up before.

    C:\Program Files\Toshiba\TOSAPINS\COMPS1\Synaptics TouchPad Driver (3264bit)0\MANUAL\B27144C.EXE probably a variant of Win32/Genetik trojan

    C:\Program Files\Toshiba\TOSAPINS\COMPS1\User's Guide - Unattended Installation(Satellite L350-L355)0\MANUAL\B28065A.EXE probably a variant of Win32/Genetik trojan

I don't know what to tell him. He wants to know if he should quarantine them. I told him that I thought they were probably false positives, but why would they pop up all of a sudden now?

    Hello,

Please ask your friend to update the virus signature database for their copy of ESET NOD32 Antivirus and then re-scan the files.

    Regards,
