    Hey everyone,

Today I noticed that my ESET Smart Security 5 displayed a box on the bottom right corner of my screen saying it had quarantined a trojan file.

This is the first time I noticed something like this, but when I looked into it further, I saw that it actually has 14 files in quarantine.

I ran a smart scan, and it came up with 1 problem file that needed to be cleaned (I'm assuming it was the file that it notified me about), but when I went to clean it it said "error while cleaning" and continued with the scan.

So do I need to do something about the quarantined files? Does that mean that the problems are fixed and I do not need to take any further actions?

When my scan finished, it said:

    Number of scanned objects: 383861
    Number of infected objects: 1
    Number of cleaned objects: 1

Does that mean that it cleaned the infection and I'm all set?

    Thanks for the help!

Please copy & paste here the complete record containing the error while cleaning from your on-demand scanner log.

    Hi Marcos,

Thanks for the reply, I will try to find those logs now.

Just to update, I just started my computer and I'm getting:

Object: active boot sector of the 0. physical disk
    Threat: Win32/Olmarik.AXY trojan

And when I try to clean, it comes up saying there was an error.

I will do a scan now and try to get the logs.

    Update: Here is the information!

Edit: I had to attach it as a notepad file because the forums were glitching out when I tried to copy/paste, I hope that's alright.

To clean Olmarik, try running the two Olmarik stand-alone cleaners downloadable from here.

Okay great thanks, I will give them a shot.

Am I at any risk at where I stand right now with these issues? Or did Smart Security catch all of the problems and neutralize them for now?

edit: I just ran them, 1 of them said that my OS wasn't supported so it didn't work, and the other said that Olmarik wasn't found on my system?

I'm still getting the error message every time the alert pops up, which is every time I turn my computer on. Any suggestions?

Please download the latest version of the Olmarik TDL4 cleaner as mentioned in my previous post and try it again.
