I occasionally get a message from Vista that says ESET service is not working. A look at admin tools/services says it IS running. Is it? Is there only one service for the whole suite?

There is only 1 (visible) service (ekrn.exe), but several processes running for different aspects of the suite.
When you get this message, does it say something like "The Eset Service (ekrn.exe) has Stopped Working and wll be closed" kinda deal? The kernel mode will restart immediately again if that's the error you're getting, and you should still be protected.

However, we have to figure out why you're having issues with the service stopping. You don't happen to have DEP turned on do you? That can interfere with any program it pleases, and many folks have enabled it for things other than Windows services due to a workaround for the "COM Surrogate" errors that many of us Vista users have had.
Did you have that issue possibly also?
