ESET Security fails

    Hello,

    I am using ESET Smart Security 4.0.474 on a Windows XP SP3 machine.

    When I start my PC, everything works fine. After a while, there is not exact period, I cannot surf the web or read emails anymore. ESET user interface is working but I cannot see any data in it. Even the about box, where the module versions appear is empty.
    But I can ping sites and I can reach other computers in my network. It seems that the ESET background service fails and blocks every communication outside the network.

    Any suggestions?

    The latest version of ESS is 4.2.64. Please download the latest version from the ESET download page, uninstall your current version and install the latest build. Should the problem perist, try enabling pre-release updates so that the latest firewall module 1062 is downloaded.
