Using Outlook 2007, emails are sporadically being blocked; as if Outlook is shut down on the work stations. Only thing that works to get them sent is to reboot our Windows 2003 Server....Dell suggested that since it only happens on a couple of workstations at a time (we have 10) (about once a week) that it may be our anti-virus doing something. Has anyone heard of this problem?

    Hello,

You might try disabling scanning of network drives on the workstations if you have not already done so. Do you have an ESET product installed on the exchange server? If so, which one? If you have ESET Mail Security for Exchange (EMSX), you might try disabling background scanning on the VSAPI module by opening the ESET GUI, press F5 for advanced setup, then click VSAPI on the left side (under AV and AS section) and unchecking the "Background scanning" box. Also, if you have EMSX installed, you might (as a test) try disabling EITHER the VSAPI or the Transport Agent entirely to see if that changes anything.

Of course, with NOD32 or EMSX, you will want to follow this article's recommendations as well as this one.

    Thanks,

    Matt
