Awesome just installed! You made my day!

Question. I'm on Verizon Wireless and don't have a SIM card. What do I need to do to get the Security Alert warning to go away?

    Thanks!

Hi, did you try the ESET Knowledgebase article How do I resolve the Security Risk warning after installing ESET Mobile Security for Android? (SOLN2734)?

    Particulary, step #5 and on.

Thank you. Just did that, cheers!

One thing I've noticed since installing is that my Gmail emails do not go out. They are stuck on Sending. Is there a setting I can check within this to fix that?

EDIT: I cleared cache and data on Gmail and it seems ok now. Will keep an eye on it though.

Testing also, so far its sweet, light weight, unobtrusive, no noticeable slow down on Galaxy S (2.3.3)

I had a problem last night. Maybe because I set heuristics to be on. I was downloading the apk for the Amazon app store. The whole screen was bugging out and gyrating around. Wish I could have captured a video. I thought it was a fluke, so I downloaded it again and same thing happened. :(

Bummed cos I want to like this.

EDIT: Also battery life was sub par yesterday on my phone with this installed. Should I just disable heuristics?

    Hello,

Please try disabling heuristics and letting us know if that makes any difference on your device.

No. There isnt. For various reasons, but mostly because only a jailbreak wil allow custom software with potential malware :). At least that's what apple says.

    Hi,

Tried that still no go. Also there is excessive lag in the keyboard when typing in your password. Hope this gets sorted as well.

    Android 2.3.3 Droid X.

Just curious if remote admin will be in final release. Other than that seems to be running good and the GUI is very clean. Great Work!!!

I gave Eset for Android a try and can confirm the extremely slow keyboard issue. It took several tries to enter my password correctly because of it.

I was also unable to uninstall the program using any normal means. I would always receive a message that uninstallation had failed. I finally had to resort to using Titanium Backup in "Chuck Norris Mode" to remove it, and even then processes were left running that required a reboot to remove. This behavior was duplicated on my Droid X with system software 2.3.340, 4.5.588, and 4.5.595.

You need to remove EMS from "Device Administrators" first before you can uninstall.

IMHO, whichever vendor can come up with a security product for Apple iPhone 3/4 will make a fortune.

The ESET Mobile Security for Android beta looks good so far, but I am concerned about the lack of a particularly important feature, really the primary security feature I am interested in for my phone, which is a firewall.

I understand that Android itself may hinder this due to not having IPTables support built-in by default... Fortunately it's also easy to root the phone and thereby add support for this critical security feature.

Why would you still be running 1.6?
