ESET 5 installer does not finish

    ESET smart security 5 installer does not finish. It just hangs on the screen "installing eset smart security". The message reads " Please wait while Setuo Wizard installs ESET Smart Security. This may take several minutes." it has now been over an hour. The status bar shows zero progress. 7 copies of msiexec.exe are running as per task manager.

    This is the second attempt to install on a new dell e6430 with windows 7. The only things done to the system is windows update and an uninstall of the trend micro trial that the system came with.

    After the first attempt, I rebooted (don't remember if I had to kill the msiexec processes) and eset seemed to be installed. The second attempt is after a reimaging the drive.

    Given the last line in your post, is the issue resolved? If not, have you contacted Customer Care? It appears you're in the US, so their contact info would be Here or call 619-630-2300.

    It appears, based on what you've said, that the issue lies with those other msiexec.exe processes that are running. Since the actual installer is an .msi file and they'd all be trying to access the Windows Installer service, this could be causing the hangup.
