Thanks but im still getting lost.

Is escan the free online virus checker that has the kaspersky scanner inside or have i got mixed up with something else.

If so what is the direct URL to the online virus scan that scans your machine online as i cant find it, i can only find the download and install version of the virus scan.

    Thanks

I believe the Escan using the KAV engine is a downloadable program that just checks your drive and does nothing as far as repair.

Kaspersky has an online scan for files up to one meg only.

I know of no Escan online scan.

Neither do i. F-Secure's online scanner may use the double engine setup (Kav+their own) that their anti-virus product's use, but i don't know for sure. :)

So is there an online scanner that i can use that uses the kaspersky scanner engine.

As i want to check my drive but kaspersky was too much of a drain on my system so i had to uninstall it.

But im sure i have read in the past of an online scanner that uses the kaspersky scanning engine. (if there isnt which is the best online scanner you would recommend, i already have mcafee home installed on my machine so which would compliment it, its trojans im most worried about)

    Thanks

Security ops has links to a lot of online scanners. Take your pick. I personally like Panda, Housecall and F-Secure's the most, but you might feel differently. :)

Yes the first link provided by Don Pelotas is the scanner you seek.

Just download from one of the three sources provided on the page.
The file will appear as a zip file called "mwav". 5.74 MB. in size.
Just double click the icon and the scanner starts with all the updated files.
Have a look at the screenie and note Powered by Kaspersky.
I'm using it right now and its already found 5 errors on my PC. *gasp*

    HTH
    Take care
