    1. Scanning is not that slow.
    2. Detection is good as usual. But some FP in my PC.
    3. May be using Bitdefender now (from the name of downloaded signature)..
    4, Portable
    5. Offers to update before scan.

I ran a scan with this product and wanted to warn everybody that you can't restore false positives that are flagged. It deletes them immediatly! :thumbd:
Luckily I had ShadowDefender running while trying this scanner.

Yes indded it does some FP. But you can choose whether to scan and remove or scan only. I did scan only.

Just tried it, and it found two things, one critical. Both false positives. One was the shell extension of Catalyst Control Center, the other the Foobar uninstaller.

Found some false positives as well, luckily chose scan instead of scan & clean.

If you extract the escan portable installer you can see the signature files are emalware. Previously that used to be avp. SO, it is quite probable that they shifted from Kaspersky to Bitdefender.

3 false positives here, all 3 used to be flagged by A2 but emisoft have fixed that. I chose scan only. does it really just eat things up it thinks are malware? no quantine or restore?
    damn hazardous program really.

If you follow the AVC reports, eScan used to have a lot of FPs but towards the end of last year they fixed them all. But with the change of engine it looks like problems have started again..:(

Taking into account the latest av-comparatives.org test results, it uses the BitDefender engine without doubts.

Anyway, it has some slightly differences in detection, it might be due to a secondary engine used.

Yes, they have an internally developed scan engine running alongside BitDefender. Also certain detections are different, i.e. packer detections etc.
