"error writing to disk"

    Hey--new user here. Automatic updates are failing, and manual updates are not processing. The error response? "error writing to disk."

    Also when I try to do a manual scan or in-depth processing, nothing happens when I click on the respective buttons to execute those functions.

    I'm on Windows XP; any suggestions where the problem lies and a solution?
