A major worry as just about everything was included in this. On my old PC there were only 4 files that this happened to but this includes just about everything. The other major worry is that a number of them give the reason as password protected! I haven't password protected any of those programmes.

How do I configure NOD32 to prevent this.

I'm only guessing that your old PC was windows 9x and your new PC is XP. If this is true then you might try logging in as an administrator and then doing a scan.
Either way please let us know if that helps and please post a little info about your new PC. :)

Don't you use Spybot Search&Destroy or suchlike program in conjunction with NOD32? That would be probably the only explanation if you are not aware of having such a big number of password protected archives.

Marcos, what do you recommend using in place of Spybot and Adaware? I would like to get rid of all the locked files that they produce.

Just purge both products before you make a scan, the locked [4] doesn't affect Nod32 at all, I simply ignore these files while scanning.

Both Ad-Aware and Spybot are in the top of the bunch when it comes to Spyware removal.

    Hope this helps...

    Cheers :D

Thats what I have been doing.

Thats what I thought and I would not be comfortable without them.

Thanks for your continued help in this forum.
