For no obvious reasons eset has given notification via the pop up messages and the logging in the GUI it relates to the antispam module

The issue may be an issue with the application data folder for ESET Smart Security. Here's one possible solution, given in a previous thread:

    1. Close your email client.
    2. Start > Run > cmd.exe
    3. Type in:

    del /Q "%APPDATA%\ESET\ESET Smart Security\Antispam\*.*"

    4. Open your email client again and see if the problem persists.

If so, please check the following folder:

    XP:
    C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\ESET\ESET Smart Security

    Vista/W7:
    C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\ESET\ESET Smart Security

Please verify you have read/write access into this folder.

When i run the command it says that the target cannot be found, on checking manually i can confirm that there is no file named Antispam in that location (win xp )

    Hello,

Does substituting %PROGRAMDATA% for %APPDATA% make any difference, i.e., issuing "DEL "%PROGRAMDATA%\ESET\ESET Smart Security\Antispam\*.*"" command?

    Regards,

    Aryeh Goretsky
