When I start TI, I get the error message "Failed to read from the sector 63 of the hard disk 3" followed by more "bad sectors". I can then select "Ignore All" but this message comes up all the time when I start the application. If there are bad sectors, why doesn't TI just mark them as such and ignore them and stop bothering me each time with this error message? The drive where these "bad sectors" are located are on an external hard USB drive. Incidently, I even formatted the drive at one time (and not just with the quick format), so these "bad sectors" really should have been marked as bad and ignored by TI.

I am getting this exact same error message. TI is complaining about the external USB HD connected to my notebook PC (which is, by the way, my backup destination). I've run a chkdsk /r on the USB drive and it reports no errors. Any ideaso_O

    Hello all,

Thank you for using Acronis True Image

The exact solution depends upon the version of Acronis True Image you use. Please see this article for more information.

    Polaris431,

I can suggest you to set the default backup options to silent mode.

Launch the program -> Tools -> Options -> Unfold backup options -> Error handling -> Mark "Do not show messages and dialogs while processing (silent mode) box -> OK.

    Thank you.
