    Hello,

I'm trying to create a full backup to an external HD and I always get the message "E00040011: Cannot open backup archive on the specified device..."
when the backup arrive at step 3 of 4 Validate Backup archive.

I'm on Vista 64 bits with Acronis True Image Home 2009, If I run the validation manually after it work correctly. what can be wrong?

    Thanks

    Luc

    Hello lucbus,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.

First of all, please make sure you use the latest build, which is available here. To get access to updates you should first register Acronis software.

Please try to save the backup to simple internal SATA\IDE hard disk drive, if possible.

The cause of this message is not clear at this step of investigation, but it looks like some privileges\accessibility issue. Please clarify, which drive are you trying to backup? To which destination?

As the alternative workaround, please try to perform the operations using Acronis Bootable Media. To create it please follow: Tools -> Create bootable rescue media. Then boot your machine from it and you will be able to use Acronis True Image without booting any OS.
Acronis Bootable Rescue Media is a standalone version of Acronis True Image Home, burned onto a CD and based on a Linux operating system.

Detailed information about Acronis True Image Home product can be found in User's Guide.

We are always at your service should you have any further questions.

    Thank you.
