Trying to boot a comp. using rescue cd I get the following errors,
Unable to handle kernel paging at virtual address ffffff00

Kernel panic: Attempted to kill the idle task!

    In idle task- not syncing
    no cont in shutdown!

I get this error on every computer of this make and model.
CD works fine on different brand computer.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks.

Have tried the safe version cd, but it doesn't have network capabilities. The image I need to restore is on a network share. I can create the image from true image within windows, but cannot restore an image unless I boot from a cd. I've done 40 computers and it worked fine, but with this model and make computer it doesn't.

    Hello --

Please boot from the Acronis True Image 8.0 rescue disc and press F11 key when the "Starting Acronis Loader..." message appears. After you get the "Linux Kernel Settings" prompt, please add "acpi=off noapic" parameter to the kernel command line being the last one (do not remove the word "quiet") and click on the OK button.

    Thank you.

Can you please boot from the Acronis True Image 8.0 rescue disc and press F11 key when the "Starting Acronis Loader..." message appears? After you get the "Linux Kernel Settings" prompt, please remove the "quiet" word, click on the OK button and wait for # prompt to appear. Please insert a diskette in a floppy disk drive.
    Then issue the following commands:
    mkdir mntdir
    mount /devfs/floppy/0 mntdir
    sysinfo > mntdir/sysinfo.txt
    umount mntdir
Send me the sysinfo.txt file from the diskette.

    Thank you.

Hey I get the exact same problem...whats the solution to this? I am using acronis true image 8 and the boot cd works on all but this one computer. Very annoying.
