Eraser 5.8.7 released

Eraser 5.8.7 stable is finally released after being too long in the making! This version brings with it Unicode changes, allowing the erasure of file names containing non English characters as well as the Portable distribution being a supported distribution.

Loaded it on an XP SP3 desktop and it ran fine. Loaded it on an XP SP3 laptop and it killed the context menu. Had to uninstall and go back to 5.7. Guess the issuses that have oft times plagued the 5.8 builds may still be hanging around...

 

I had a suggestion for the next release, a simple zero fill one pass option.

 

You can create you own wiping methods. If you want that method just create it.

 

Yep - and it takes all of about 10 seconds to do so.
