I didn't have to turn on paranoid mode to see Mamutu pop-up warnings, though I already have the community based alert reduction disabled. Try some installers and you will see it working :D.

For some odd reason found it to be heavier than ThreatFire on my box...... Of course Mamutu has more options/tweaks. But I'll stick with TF as I only need it to pop up when something's going wrong.

Thank you. I think I'll take it. Mamutu hass run well for me. I think my laptop takes a little longer to smooth out, but the worse application which ties it up is SAS when it starts.

Added: I did not like the agreement for a subscription. So much for that.

    Regards,
    Jerry

What agreement? Can you not cancel after 3 years?

Yes but if you forget to cancel, I expect they'll try to put the charge through. I paid with Paypal, so I don't see how they can collect without my approval.

Jerry, if I'm understanding you correctly, you have a problem with the subscription renewal policy, as I did when I first subscribed. There is a link in the confirmation email you are sent from Cleverbridge for "Subscription Cancelation". It may appear that you're canceling the subscription you just signed up for, but it's only canceling the renewal for the subscription. You will then get an email from Cleverbridge confirming the cancellation.

On 1 computer I have Eset Smart Security and Prevx+SafeOnline. I installed Mamutu to try but it gave problems in Firefox when downloading files, it couldn't download them because it couldn't access the temp folder from Firefox in User folders. Also opening the options of some extensions crashes Firefox(probably because the settings are also saved in the folders it can't access.) Opera worked fine in the beginning but it also has problems with downloading files sometimes(no error, just nothing happens.) I had some popups from Mamutu about Firefox but I allowed everything, Mamutu on default settings. When I disabled the guard and removed from start-up, nothing changed, but when I uninstalled it suddenly everything works fine again. This was on Vista x86 on Admin account with UAC.

Yeah, same thing happened to me. I'm not saying Mamutu is not good. It is great actually, we all know that. But I guess it just doesn't play along with my current setup (I did uninstall TF before trying MTU). I'll pass for now.

However, everybody should check it out. IME set on paranoid mode it almost looked like a soft HIPS.

Thank you for posting that, as you say, it looked like canceling Mamutu itself, but it actually cancels just the subscription. Nice to be able to buy the program with no strings attached.

You're welcome, justenough.....when I found out how to cancel the automatic renewal it cinched my decision to subscribe.
