Country restrictions are gone. Don't make much sense in today's cloud age.

    Thanks Fabian.

Yesterday EIS updated, but after restart I got the message that there were no AV Solutions turned on, checked EIS and everything was green. Checked in MS Action Center and had to trust EIS.

And just now a a2start Eureka Log was created right after updating EIS

    @ Fabian Wosar

Remember in some other thread we had a little discussion about stopping banking trojans (ssl-loggers) with proactive protection? It turns out that SpyShelter has the ability stop ssl-loggers with the "AntiNetworkSpy" module. If I'm correct they do not even inject code into apps, and can still stop suspicious dll injection, with that I mean: they will allow "normal" memory modification. So you might want to take a look at this. Perhaps you can add it to the HIPS/BB. :)

    Fabian, Christian,

As a long-time user (6 yrs.) of Online Armor and a few years of Emsi A-M who just converted to Emsi Internet Security, I just want to say I really like the new firewall. My wife REALLY likes the way fewer popups. I now have 4 more hours in the day. :)

    Thank you!

Though Emsisoft seems to have good reviews, it isn't cheap to be honest, at least, from what I see.
    Norton Security 2015 1 year 5 individual devices $59.99
    Kaspersky Internet Security – Multi-Device: 1 year, 5 devices: $99.95
    Emsisoft Internet Security, 1 year, 5 computers, € 139.95 (about 175 dollar)

    =
    SnagIt-08112014 135724.png

    =
later, for a mobile device, add another € 9,95 (12 bucks)
    so, 4-5 pc's 1 mobile device 149.90 EUR = 187 USD ... 1 year

I don't know what website you are looking at or whether you can buy at USD dollar prices, but the site I look at has the 5 PC license at $139 USD, the phone security is another $10 USD, so it would be $149 USD, not Euros. Still fairly expensive given the trend towards lesser priced multi-device subscriptions, but not as bad as is stated in your post.

But IMHO EMIS is far superior to NS for example - check out some of it's detection rates. Whether it's 90 bucks better however is open to serious question. 5 device NS has been selling for $59.95 or less. Last week Newegg was selling Webroot Secure Anywhere Complete that covers 5 devices for $29.95.

Emisoft and Online Armor have always been relatively expensive products when compared to discounted special prices on other products.

I only have a single PC so it's not that big of a difference for me. My phone I use the free version of 360.

Am looking at the very same site, but then the USD is automatically in EUR

    I have two pc's, may run 1 or 2 VM's (W7 / W8 ) and have a tablet, so I end up with 5 devices.

Considering 'normal' prices, i.e. no special actions
(oh btw Kaspersky reduced their Internet Security Multi Device price by 25 dollar for a limited period)
then Emsisoft is twice the price.

Emsisoft may be superior to NS, I am not sure if they are superior to Kaspersky Internet Security 2015 though.
    Maybe they are, I don't know - haven't seen a side-by-side comparison.

Then again, indeed they are asking a premium of 100% over KIS.

    Bitdefender Internet Security 2015, 1 year, 5 pc's, € 94,95
    AVG Internet Security 2015, 1 year, 5 pc's € 89,95 incl. vat
    ESET Multi-Device Security,1 year, 5 pc's/devices, € 87 incl vat

    Well, anyway ...

Weird. My price was shown in USD and that is what I was charged.

I use NoScript. Maybe it prevented the website from functioning and charging as intended,

Hate to break the news to you late, but two weeks ago Newegg was selling KIS Multi Device for a total price of $25.00 making your comparison to Emisoft even worse.

I was tempted. Had been using KIS for years until just recently when either an update to KIS, Windows 8, or the game itself, made it so there was no way I could connect to the game server of my favorite game with KIS no matter what I tried and I made every adjustment poosible. When I saw that deal, out of curiousity I downloaded a demo and I still dson't understand why, but KIS slowed my PC to a crawl and made it useless for all practical purposes -- and I had used it for the prior 2 years.

I am currently using Emisoft Internet Security 9 and I am very pleased with it.

Likely it is converted automatically because I live in an EUR country, but it does make things more costly...
BTW did you ever tried to run an Ookla speedtest with Kaspersky ?
Pls see my posting in: Norton Internet Security, Antivirus and 360 Being Retired? (p.1:cool:

You know, I could post a lot screenshots with horrible downloadspeeds, jumping up and down but remaining below 200Mbit/s (I have a fiber 400Mbit/s). This is proven to be caused by Kaspersky. With Norton I have a stable 420Mbit/s down and some 430 up. It may be 100% okay your end, but it doesn't harm to check.

Is there an EIS user manual available anywhere?
My VPN is about to finalise their Hostname Assignment Framework (HAF) architecture, so pretty much means Windows 7 Firewall will be rendered moot since it only deals with IP addresses. I'd much rather avoid updating IP addresses, rather get drunk to be honest... lol

Simply click on the questionmark (?) on the upper right of the UI.

Edit: Oh wait, you're not using EIS... Then click here.

Sorry to disappoint you, but that's actually just a new consolidated and improved version of our core drivers that makes the codebase ready for the upcoming years. :)

I was just updated a few minutes ago.

Hope this is the reason for the updating issues I was having yesterday evening(EST). EAM was just hanging up in the middle of the hourly update. Also noticed recently downloaded BD sig files in my user\appdate\local\temp\a2temp directory all day yesterday. Just checked and that directory clean now after the recent upgrade.

I gave this try, and returned to my old reliable firewall.
Problem: can not see what is blocked, if I try to tighten things up I lose connection. Nothing to tell me whats being blocked or allowed in real time.
Would be nice to show what is being allowed or blocked (real time).
Also having an "allow once" or "block once" would be a nice addition.
