Actually after downloading Ikarus signature it connects to emsisoft server. I think that switch makes the delay. I am experiencing that too.

I think the GUI is slow and doesn't respond quick enough, especially when double-clicking the tray-icon. Any chances you devs might speed the GUI up? My computer is fast enough as I'm on a high-end SSD and a high-end Quad-core CPU with lots of RAM.

The GUI part is loaded in a separate process, that's why it takes a while to show up.

We decided for this concept to not always keep the rarely used GUI stuff in memory while the realtime protection is active.

Speed up could be done by pre-loading (see Adobe Acrobat or MS IE stuff), but I doubt that would be in favor of the majority of our users.

However, I'll have a look if we can do some fine tuning.

That's great! It's about the only thing that annoys me with EAM! :)

The opening of the GUI actually sped up for me from 5.1 to 6, which is good. I'm also on a SSD. How long does the GUI take to open up for you?

Double clicking the tray icon has been a bit slow for me too, but since it's a cosmetic/GUI issue i don't really pay attention to it xD

Last week i messed up my safe partition.
Due to my Noobishness i was setting up user rights through Windows and i ended up deleting ALL USERS from the list and then saved, guess what i couldn't have access to the HDD no matter what i did, i Googled and the process was too complex so i just reformatted LOL :D :argh:

    Running EAM v. 6.0.0.31

Every time EAM finishes a schelduled scan, Windows reports that EAM is turned off

And also EAM forgets the files i put in whitelist. It keeps reporting files Ive told is okay.

That EAM 6 doesn't co-operate with Windows Security Center very well has been a problem during the entire beta-period. I wonder when it'll be fixed for good.

Its a problem that exists in EAM 5 as well. They have fixed it multiple times and it keeps breaking.

It's not an extremely important thing, but it does not rhyme well if a security vendor can't even make itself register properly with Windows. It's a matter of trust I suppose.

Can you please check your EAM directory for files with the extension ELF? If you find any please send them to fw@emsisoft.com. Thanks.
