If you have read what you quote, "I have no other security software installed".

Am I right in thinking that Surf Protection does not work with Google Chrome?

No. Surf Protection works just fine with Chrome.

That number is correct at this moment.
You could also check the update logs to see if the auto-update is working.

    newone,

    These are the default update setting (check every hour);

    defaultupdate.png

If there was a connection error during the auto-update it would show in the logs.
If no update is available, the log shows; "no modules for downloading".

This wasn't my experience. A site listed as hosting malware was blocked instantly under IE but loaded under Chrome every time.

Don't know what to tell ya. Surf Protection has worked for me since 5.1 in different versions of Chrome and instantly blocks any site I try to access that is listed.

Well... a site blocked by IE won't necessarily be blocked by Chrome.

Just figured out why Surf Protection wasn't working. I'd excluded Chrome earlier under Guard > Application Rules as it was causing a huge delay in page load times. I had to do this too when I tried Mamutu a while back so I anticipated having to do this.

Hello? Has anyone had my bug and have a solution? Every time I run it it starts the security wizard, even though I have completed it several times, albeit I chose the quickest scan. And I am choosing to run the program each time, not the wizard.

At the last step: Do you close the wizard using the close icon at the top right or do you click the "Finish" button? Can you please send me the INI files located in the Emsisoft Anti-Malware directory?

    for Fabian Wosar :

Hi Fabian, and congrats for your new EAM 6. Hi have two questions about it:

    1) EAM 6 settings are no more stored in registry, but mainly in a INI file (a2settings.ini) located in the dir of the program. I also know that the new EAM 6 includes a new activation method that check the MAC address of the PC where EAM is installed. After activating the trial version (30 days) for 3-4 days for example... if i change my Ethernet apdapter, reinstall Windows and EAM, will i have others 30 days to try it?

    2) If i have no Ethernet adapters installed in my system, and i use an Internet key for Internet, how can i activate the trial version of EAM 6 if there aren't MAC addresses to check in my system?

Thank you in advance Fabian, and i hope that you exhaustively clarify my doubts.

I use the close wizard button. And the problem still persists after the update to the latest version. I am not sure which files were ini files but I believe they are the configuration settings files, so I am attaching them. I also had to make them .txt files so they could be attached.

Please understand that I can't tell you any specifics and answer your questions in detail. We don't exclusively look at the MAC though. So if you are using a connection method that doesn't use an ethernet device you still will be able to get a trial version.

According to your configuration file you never ran the Wizard. Can you please look for files with the extension ELF in your Emsisoft Anti-Malware directory? If there are any please send them to fw@emsisoft.com. Otherwise I would appreciate it if you could tell me whether or not you are using any other security software beside EAM currently.

I couldn't find any files with the ELF extension. Also I reinstalled it to see if that would fix it. During the wizard I let it run the deep scan, but it still doesn't act as if I finished the wizard.
